Maryland Kite Society Auction

We’re into final plans for the 2024 MKS Winter Retreat, February 16-19.  We understand that not everyone can join us for the entire weekend, but you’re always welcome to drop by and say hello.

In particular, if you’d care to join us for Saturday night’s auction, we’d be happy to see you.  The auction starts at 8 pm; if you’d like to join us earlier for our banquet that starts at 6:30, that would also be great.  The cost of the multi-course meal, including wine, is $60 per person, and we must receive your check and reservation by February 7.

We’ve already got great offerings this year for the auction and more always show up at the last minute.  Some of the spectacular pieces available include famous large battle Rokkakus, a rainbow 8-stack of Roks, a 3-kite Martin Lester Yakko Stack, a small Flexifoil, one of the loveliest deep sky reels ever seen, historical kites from England and Brazil, fabric, accessories, and much, much more.

You don’t need to tell us in advance if you want to come to the auction, but we do need to know in advance by February 7 if you’d also like to have dinner with us.  MKS accepts checks or cash.  Checks should be made out to the Maryland Kite Society and sent to Jon Burkhardt, Treasurer, Maryland Kite Society, 10113 Lloyd Road, Potomac, MD 20854.
