The Grand Island Kite Festival takes place on the 15 acres of grassy land used for soccer fields at the Veterans Athletic Complex, 2820 North Broadwell Avenue in Grand Island, NE. Grand Island and Hall County are centrally located in the middle of the United States. The highways serving Grand Island are like the spokes of a wheel and provide ease in commuting from almost any location. Serving Grand Island directly are Interstate 80, U.S. Highways 30, 34 and 281 and Nebraska Highway 2, with key lateral connections to U.S. Highway 6 and Nebraska Highways 92, 14 and 11.
There are no power lines in the area of the soccer fields.
